A Groovy Birthday

Next week, my favorite Aunt Groovy is having a birthday. Yesterday I got my new Summer Limited Edition t!m Holtz Distress inks. Ohhh so pretty! So I had to play with them this morning and make Groovy a cool birthday tag. I smushed all three colors on my kraft mat and spritzed both the inks and my tag with water and ran the tag (and two others!) thru the inky puddle. Then I dried it and re-inked thru the puddle for more depth. I distressed the edges and used my Vintage Photo ink pad and inked the edges. I used Eyelash Lady for my main image and used my red and brown Dylusions inks and hand painted her eyebrows and mouth. I used Fruit Punch Stickles on the tips of her eyelashes. I used the leaf stamp from Around The Edge stamp set at the top and highlighted usign my Signo Uniball white pen and I sprayed water thru a stencil on the bottom.

Happy Birthday

My mother in law will be 90 next week. A milestone birthday to be sure! And even though she had a series of strokes 2 years ago and can't go and do like she once did, she's still a mighty fiesty woman! John and I will be going to take his folks out for a nice steak dinner next week, but I wanted her to have her birthday card a little early. I can share it because they don't read my blog!

I used some of Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back canvas and stamped the cake using (retired) CTMH It's Your Day stamp set. Colors used were Creme Brulee, Tulip, Juniper and Sorbet. I frayed the edges a bit before attaching it with pop dots for a bit of dimension.

Happy Birthday, Mom. We love you!

Edit: I have been informed that after 50+ years of marriage that my father in law still doesn't know how old mom is! HE is the one who told John that mom was gonna be 90. So I wrote Happy 90th Birthday in her card when I sent it. And she was incensed that we made her older than she is. (Which any woman in her right mind would be!) She is in fact going to be 88. So I stand corrected!

Birthday card

Sister-in-law JoAnn's got a birthday coming up. I decided to think outside the box for the paper pack and used the CTMH Wonderland Christmas paper for this card! I love how I can just flip the paper over now and it's got a completely different color and textured pattern on the reverse side. This is actually the same piece of paper, but I used what I think is the more "Christmassy" pattern for the small strip down the side.  The stamp is from the Pair-A-Phrase set. The butterflies are from the Just Blooms Flutter collection.

Happy Pear-thday Thitou!

It's my Thito's birthday today. I *think* she's 21. I know I'm not much older than that, so she can't be either!:::that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!:::

I pulled out CTMH Mayberry paper pack to make her card with. LOVE this paper! I found a real cute card design on SplitCoast called tri-fold card and decided to use it. I used my Cuttlebug and my Coluzzle for the card. The stamp set that comes with the WOTG is also called Mayberry and I did a play on birthday with pear-thday and used the pear stamp in this set. I think the card is cute as all get-out and hope Jan thinks so too!

Happy Birthday Thitou! We love you.

Rockin Birthday

Hard to believe but Favorite Oldest Nephew Kyle will be twenty on Sunday! I swear I am not 20 years older than I was when he was born!! We are meeting he, Kathy and Bruce for pizza dinner tonight so we can give him the Eagle Project album that I did earlier and shared pics of. But I had to have a card to give him too!

So I looked to http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ for a layout pattern. I used CTMH You Rock paper pack, along with one of the Top Coats that coordinate so well with this pp. Stamp sets are Birthday Blocks and Happy Birthday. Each of the blocks has a bit of Stickles and/or Distress Stickles for that added bling! The chipboard is also CTMH. String is Martha Stewart.

Happy Birthday!

Debbie!

I gave y'all a sneak peek of a project I was working on earlier this month. I said then it would be revealed in full in due time. Well, it's time!

This little photo book is in Deb's hot little hands this morning! The book is CTMH My Creations All-Sorts Mini Album. I think everything in it is Scenic Route. How sad I am that these lovely papers and chipboard elements are no more. I've still got plenty in my stash though...hoarder that I am!!!

I hope you have a great day Debbie. Well, as great as it can be considering you've got to work and all! I think everyone should have their birthday off. And if I'm elected, that's the first bill I'll sign into law!

I'm so punny!

Sometimes I even quack myself up!

Favorite Youngest Nephew Jake's got a birthday coming the end of this week, so I needed a card. Of the animal persuasion, since he's still all about the animals! I swear this kid's gonna be Noah when he grows up! I used CTMH Good Times pp, along with the hippo from It's A Zoo stamp set. I stamped the word "hippo" using Hodgepodge Alphabet stamp set, then cut the letters apart and inked the edges in Chocolate. The "Birthday" is from Happy Birthday stamp set. There's a piece of Sweet Leaf ribbon and a pewter brad, both CTMH and a star brad, unknown from my stash.

Happy Birthday Liane!

April starts where March left off! Today is my friend Liane's birthday. She's 29. Same as me! I found these paper mache` letters at JoAnn's and decided she needed one with her name on it. Cuz you know, once you hit 29, you occasionally have temporary insanity moments when you just. can't. remember. your. own. name! So in those moments, all she has to do is look over her shoulder, and there it will be. I also made some peppermint patty flowers for her, but she said the peppermint patties were gone by the time they got to her. I know I've had that same problem with candy that people send me, so I totally understand. Those poor overworked Postal workers get hungry too! Happy Birthday my friend!

Happy Birthday Debbie!

Yours is the final in a long list of friends who have birthdays in March! Hope you have a fabulous day, even though you've got to work!

Deb recieved her gift from me the other day. She got a hanging frame (not one of Sue's Famous Wall hangings, which she already has!) and an altered book album. She also recieved one of the boxes filled with candy for winning a spot in my Share The Love game in February.

Happy Birthday friend!

Janelle's birthday gift

Once again, the USPS is moving with lightning speed! Janelle's birthday isn't til this Sat, and I sent her gift a week early since it was going to the left coast and she got it in three days! Amazing. She's a teacher. Enlightening the next generation. So with that in mind, I made her one of Sue's Famous Wall Hangings that she could put in her classroom and think of me everytime she looked at it! ;) I also made her a clippy board that she can use on her desk to jot down a quick note. And a little door hanger that I turned into a card holder with 4 3x3 cards inside that she can use. Happy Birthday BB!

Happy Birthday Evan!

Today is my friend Evan's birthday. He sent me a birthday gift last year and had written on the outside of the box that I could not open it until my birthday. He's never even met me and he knows me too well! He knew I'd open it early if he hadn't said I had to wait. So there it sat, for a week, taunting me! I knew I'd pay him back! So I sent his gift a week early and put a big sign on the outside of the box that he couldn't open it til today! Debbie, his mom, said he got the biggest grin on his face when he saw that! And he sat it at his chair at the dining room table and gave his mom grief when she would move the box so he could eat! With Evan's sight limitations, I knew I had to do something with different textures so that he could feel the differences. So to embellish the "E" letter I got for him, I used T!m Holtz Grungeboard, DistressInk, Crackle Paint and Distress Powder. I used Fragments for smoothness. I stamped a clock face and used a T!m Holtz Game Spinner for interaction. I posted the card I made for him last week as my OCC week 11 challenge. It had things he could touch and feel as well.

He's going out for a pizza party tonight if the weather holds off. He said they were under tornado warnings all night and had lots of rain, thunder and lightning. Now it looks like they will be in for some of the remains of Hurricane Ike as he moves across Illinois. Hopefully they will not lose power and he can enjoy his party later tonight.

Hope your day is truly special and wonderful Evan!
