SDC229-Two Much Fun

It's time again for SDC229.  This week, the ladies who participate in the Stampotique ATC Swap are being featured as it's the Second Birthday of the Swap! I recently joined in on the swaps, so my creation was already completed. We were encouraged to use twos in as many ways as we could. Mine has twos stencilled all over it and my image was stamped twice and one used as a shadow.

I made a looong ATC because I wanted to use Kate's Angel and she is taller than 3.5". ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) are 3.5" x 2.5", the same size as playing cards. We actually make two of the same card, or different if you like, and we swap with people from all over the globe. Our swap partners for this go-round were just sent to us yesterday, so mine will be going postal to my swap partners today. We can't tell who they are, so it's always a nice surprise to see where yours comes from. Last swap, I got one from Australia and another from here in the States! Such fun!

Smell the Flowers

Today is my day to be featured on Roc's blog.

I am using two of her stamps on my postcard in this month's Design Team art. First up is Bunny and she was given a heart and wings using Flying Heart. All of Roc's stamps can be found at Stampotique.

Bunny is found today, flying over a field of flowers reminding us all to "Take Time To Smell the Flowers!" Life is short. We have to remember to embrace the little things.

I used my PrismaColor pencils and Odorless Turpentine to color all the images. There's a bit of VIVA Iridescent German Glitter on the wings and some of the flower centers for a little bling!

SDC228-Hues of Red and Pink

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for SDC228! Sue is our hostess this week and she had this to say about the challenge.

"With Valentine's Day around the corner we have all seen hues of reds and pinks, I challenge you to create a Stampotique Valentine's Day creation inspired by reds and pinks"

I used Distress Paints in Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry and Victorian Velvet for my background. Then I used Dina Wakely's  hearts stencil and used the same three colors from Distress Ink Pads and a blending tool to stencil hearts here and there. Schmurfy and Polka Dot Dog play the roles of Charlie Brown and Snoopy and the quote is straight out of the 70's!

SDC227-Color Blobs

It's time again for the SDC. Arwen is our hostess this week and she would like to see color blobs.

I used one of Roc's stamps, Ellie and  Dyan's umbrella for this postcard. I used two different stencils. One of raindrops and one of blobs! The blobs are done with Distress Inks and the ones on the bottom are done with Tim Holtz's new Distress Glitter Dust. And believe me when I say that if you think regular glitter is bad in getting everywhere, you ain't seen nothin' til you work with the Glitter Dust! I've got things that aren't supposed to be glittery, glittery!! ;)

12 Tags of 2016-January

I'm so glad Tim is continuing on with his 12 Tags for 2016!

This year he is making everything old, new again. He will be revisiting older techniques and giving them a new spin!

For January, he pulled out Industrious Metal and Chalkboard Techniques. I could not find my Black Distress Paint, so I used Ground Espresso Distress Paint instead and I kinda like the softer look it gave! And I could not find my Frosted Crystal Powder, so I used Copper instead and I REALLY like the look it gave! It really is about using what you have and making do! Still marching to the beat of my own drummer!!

SDC226-Trees

After a 2 week break, the Stampotique Designers are back with a new challenge.  Claudine is our hostess this week and she wants to see trees!

I used some Distress Paints to make my "grass" and "sky" on the tag, then added some of the edges of Roc's Heart Vine stamp around the outer edges of the tag adding some white highlights with my Signo Uniball White Pen. The I stamped a bunch of trees from a very old Close To My Heart stampset and added them to the tag. Also used some very old conchos from CTMH as well on the largest tree.

No, I DO NOT hoard my supplies!!!  :)
