Stampotique Designers Challenge SDC 201

Astrid is our hostess this week for SDC 201  and she wants us to"Give Wings" to whatever stamps we use.

With the monumental Supreme Court ruling this past week on all 50 of the United States having to allow and recognize Gay Marriage, and why can't it just be "marriage", I decided I'd do something to recognize this.

Working in my small Dyan Reaveley journal, I used Dina Wakley's wonderful Heavy Body Acrylic Paints for my base, then added some stencil work which I highlighted with my White Signo Uniball pen. I made my own wonky houses with some Gelli Prints I had laying around. I used Roc Nicholas' Dog and Stacked Love stamps and added wings to both with her Flying Love stamp. The wings have glitter on them, just because I needed some sparkle somewhere and they are also pop-dotted to give them some dimension.

Stampotique Designers Challenge-SDC200

It's Challenge 200 at Stampotique Designers Challenge and Kim is our hostess this week. She wanted some sort of celebration card. Roc's Party Dog is always ready to celebrate!

I started with Dyan's new paints and applied them with my fingers. Then I used Tim's Stars stencil and applied Dyan's White Linen paint with an Ink Blending tool. I then used my Fude Ball Black pen to highlight the stars and added some Viva German Glitter to make the stars sparkle. Party Dog and Steampunk Border are both colored using Dyan's Spray Inks. I made a bunting out of some Gelli print papers I had left over and stitched it on the sewing machine.

Happy 200 Stampotique Designers! Here's to the next 200!!

Oh, and a special thank you to Donna for the easel which I am now using to prop my creations up on to photograph!

Stampotique Designers Challenge SDC 199

Our hostess this week at Stampotique  is Kathi and she wants shimmer and shine!

I decided to make a post card and I started with three different colors of LuminArt Primary Elements mixed with VIVA Modeling Cream which I applied with a palette knife and left lumpy-bumpy for texture. I love the shimmery effect this gives! My cat is painted with Twinkling H2O's and the cat is done with Dylusions Spray Inks in a water brush then topped with VIVA German Glitter. I found a few rub-ons in the bottom of a storage container and used them as well as a quote from Tim Holtz's Small Talk stickers.

Stampotique challenge 198

Great challenge  this week from our hostess Gez. Use your favorite Stampotique stamp. My very first stamp from Stampotique was Roc Nicholas' Bird Lady because I loved the simplicity of the stamp. And she has remained a favorite. I used a favorite Emily Dickinson quote as well. I used Tim's background for his June stamp of the month. I love how different it looks with what colors you use to make the plaid design.

June??? Really? How did it get to be June already?

I don't know, but I do know Tim's got a perfect for him tag over on his blog. He made a Starbucks card. I took a different path as I am known to do! I used Salyy Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon for my plaid. I hadn't inked up Tim's CrAzY Birds in a while, so I used that set today and colored the bird with new Abandoned Coral and Twisted Citron. For decoration, I used some of the Remnant Rubs from the Botanicals pack, a Pocket Card and a piece of Industrious Stickers that I first painted black, let dry, then rubbed most of it off to age it.
