Have some cake!

Needing a birthday card for Favorite Youngest Nephew Jake who will be 11 (WHAT? Really?!) next week, I turned to http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ for my inspiration.

Paper pack is CTMH Lazy Days of Summer, which is now retired, but I love the colors! Works for masculine or feminine cards. Stamp sets are Happy Birthday and Party Blocks. I used Liquid Pearls on the cake and pounced the tip to give it dimension like frosting. The candles and flames are Stickles. Butcher Twine is Martha Stewart.

I pulled out CTMH Zippidee paper pack along with A Twinkle stamp set to do this card. I double stamped the star in Honey and Cranberry ink and pop-dotted both on a CTMH A-Door-Able chipboard piece covered in B&T paper. I stamped the sentiment and a few of the stars from this stamp set inside the door. Then I used a bit of Yellow Stickles for bling on the stars!

Little Things

I chose to make my diamonds a bit bigger than the sketch.. Using CTMH Laid Back pp along with Little Things Matter stamp set, this was a fast and easy card for me. The "brads" are punched out of Sunflower cs, then I added a bit of Ranger Yellow Stickles for a bit o' bling!

Feelin' Sunny

I have to admit, when I saw this weeks sketch at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ I was stumped! I had NO idea what I was gonna do with it! And it kept eating at me. So I finally got to looking in my stash and I saw the colored corregated paper that I've had For.Ever and my first thought was "sun." Then I found my CTMH ric rac and I still have some yellow left, so that would be great for the sun's rays. And then I found some CTMH Dimensional Elements and it had the "Here Comes the Sun" sentiment. Perfect! A couple of unknown pieces of scrap outta my stash and voila! After it eating at me for 3 days, this card came together in less than 10 minutes!

Fishy Thank You

Working on building up my stash of Thank You cards. Using this weeks sketch at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/, this card makes me smile!

I used an old CTMH paper pack, Lazy Days of Summer and an oldie but goodie stamp set, Funky Fish, along with the Solo T Alpha set. The fish are all pop-dotted for dimension as is the sentiment. All have Diamond Stickles for a bit of bling. And you just gotta love those googlie eyes on the fish!

Happy Day

I'm needing some Thank You cards, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to ink up a couple of new stamp sets! I used CTMH Cherry-O paper pack, along with Fruitful Delight and Bowl of Cherries stamp sets. The main image is from FD and the cherries in the corners and sentiment are from BoC. All of the cherries have a bit of Tutti Fruti Stickles and are pop-dotted for dimension. I used my Threading Water punch on the Sweer Lead cardstock, along with a bit of white Ric Rac.

Rockin Birthday

Hard to believe but Favorite Oldest Nephew Kyle will be twenty on Sunday! I swear I am not 20 years older than I was when he was born!! We are meeting he, Kathy and Bruce for pizza dinner tonight so we can give him the Eagle Project album that I did earlier and shared pics of. But I had to have a card to give him too!

So I looked to http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ for a layout pattern. I used CTMH You Rock paper pack, along with one of the Top Coats that coordinate so well with this pp. Stamp sets are Birthday Blocks and Happy Birthday. Each of the blocks has a bit of Stickles and/or Distress Stickles for that added bling! The chipboard is also CTMH. String is Martha Stewart.

Happy Spring

Lots of layers for the http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ challenge this week! Love that!

I used my Nesties scalloped circle and a bunch of layers of mulberry paper and made a paper flower. I fluffed the layers and inked the top layer with CTMH Blush ink. Paper pack is the new CTMH Cherry-O that will be available to customers on May 1. I used one of my EK Success punches and tied Blush Waxy Flax in some of the holes. Sentiment is from the old style CTMH April Word Puzzle that is no longer available.

Hot Diggity!

This is the last paper pack of the new Summer CTMH IB release that is coming up on May 1. This one's called Splendor. Pretty florals, stripes, clouds and checks for all those outside summer pics. I used this one for this weeks challenge at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/.

The stamp set is called Hot Diggity. It's got frogs, fish, butterflies, flowers, birds, a cute earthworm and snail along with several sentiments. All sorts of outside critters that will go perfectly with the Splendor paper pack. I double stamped the bird and cut one out and pop dotted it for some dimension. There's a Bitty Sparkle for it's eye and a bit of Diamond Stickles on it's wing. The three brads are part of the Designer Brad collection and is called Splendor as well and coordinates beautifully with this pp!

Treasure Life

I pulled out an old CTMH favorite pp called Silhouette. I love the blacks, creams and whites in this paper pack. I used CTMH Treasure Life stamp set. This is another favorite! Three buttons from my stash complete this card.

CPS challenge

Needing a card for my cousin's daughter who is graduating from Florida State University (GO NOLES!!) next month, I decided to use this weeks challenge at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/.

Kaylynn is graduating Magna Cum Laude. A double Major in Anthropology and History and a Minor in Museum Studies. She will do her Masters work in the double Majors and Minor at Georgia. From what her mom tells me, she wants to be "Bones" when she finishes school! The girl is smart as a whip, so I know anything she puts her mind to, she will accomplish.

The cardstock is from my stash. I pulled the FSU emblem off the internet. I used a Maaaatha Stewart punch for the center divider.

CPS challenge

Instead of cleaning my scraphole, I'm doing challenges!! Pulling out more stuff that I'll only have to put away later. Oh well! It's my mess and I'm the one who has to look at it. I did something to my right knee yesterday. Turned or stepped wrong. Who knows. I do know that it hurts like all get-out this morning, so I'm not feeling particularly ambitious towards cleaning. Not that I ever do!!

Anyway!

There is a wide open sketch at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ this week! So many different things you could do with it! I chose to do a card with a play on words. Using "birdy" for "birthday." Paper pack is CTMH Veranda along with Tiny Typewriter Alpha and Love Birds stamp sets. I paper pieced the bird wing and it and the bird are pop dotted. I also used some of the Japanese Washi tape that I got last year at CHA. Love the fact that you can pull it up and reposition it if you don't get it in the correct position the first (or twenty first!) time!! It's kinda hard to see, but there's brown, green and a mustard-y yellow tapes. It shows up better in real life!

The stoopid newspaper wasn't here this morning, so what better way to use my time than work on the http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ challenge for this week?!

Debbie said I should keep using the CTMH Caboodle pp because she was almost convinced that she *needed* to buy it. So Deb, this one's for YOU!

I used CTMH Caboodle pp along with Enjoy Every Moment stamp set. With the time change last night, I can "feel" Spring coming, so this daisy stamp fits the bill. I also love the soft Spring-like colors used in Caboodle. I colored the flowers with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. And I used my Nesties scalloped Ovals to cut it out.

Fil has a birthday coming up the end of this month so I decided I'd use this weeks challenge at

After he retired from the military, he repaired the ambulances for the county, so I thought this would make a great starting point. I used CTMH Tinkerin' pp, cutting out some of the gears to back my elements. Sentiment is from CTMH Happy Birthday stamp set. The gears are t!m Holtz and they spin!! I made the card 8 x 4.25 and I turned it longways just to be different!

I pulled out CTMH Veranda paper pack along with Follow Your Heart stamp set. The birds tail is pop dotted and I used a Bitty Sparkle for it's eye. A very basic, simple card!

Thinking warm thoughts!

I was thinking warm thoughts when I created this card! Since I had the CTMH Laid Back (retired) pp out, I figured I'd go with it. I pulled out CTMH Splish Splash (also retired) stamp set for the surfboard. If you look closely at the bottom of the surfboard, you'll notice I went out in the yard and got some sand and mixed with Glossy Accents to make real sand at the bottom of the board! I also paper pieced the surfboard.

A little birdie...

This is what I came up with with for this week's challenge at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/. I've had these chipboard birds laying around forever and I love the CTMH Veranda pp and thought the two would go good together. I ran the Vanilla Cream cardstock thru the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder, then sponged the outside edges. The bird has some Smooch Accent Ink on it for "feathers." I also used some

t!m Holtz Fragments. I used the new CTMH Cherished Flourishes for the random stamping on the Juniper base.

I pulled out CTMH Topstitch paper pack and Charmed stamp set. The "petals" are stamped on Grungeboard in CTMH Vineyard Berry and are pop dotted on the ends. I made my own brad again using my I-Top Brad Maker. I'm really loving that tool!! I can't seem to do anything without making my own brads any more!

Two posts in one day! Had to do something to warm up, so what better way to do that than with the http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ challenge for this week?!

Valentine's Day is over a month away, but I decided I'd get started on some of my cards for it with this sketch. I used an all time fav CTMH pp, Silhouette. I pulled out CTMH Love Language stamp set to go along with it. The heart is stamped in CTMH Holiday Red. Black grosgrain ribbon is from the CTMH Black Ribbon Round collection. The belt buckle sister Jan sent me as part of my birthday gift. She bought it for a costume for Jake for school and ended up not using it and she said she thought her "crafty sister" could find a use for it. Yep, sure did!

For the last week of the year, Tami challenged us to use any of the 147 sketches at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/. I went almost to the beginning and chose number 8!

I'm working on my Thank You cards for Christmas, so this fills one of those spots. The ASL metals are part of my birthday goodie tin that Debbie and Evan sent that was chock full of all sorts of scrapping/carding goodies. The mask at the bottom was part of my Christmas gift from them. I stayed pretty basic and simple with my color choices beacuse I wanted the ASL metals to take center stage.
