Perfect Day part 3

This is the last layout from the Perfect Day workshop. This one is based on CTMH Imagine layout called Understudy.. Most everything is CTMH. Only exception being the large square

t!m Holtz Fragment, the quote which is from the scrap store in Pigeon Forge, the picture of the old-timey couple which is from my stash and the Ranger Crackle Accents I put on the couple to make it look older still. To me they looked like the type of people who would have had a summer house in Elkmont back in the day!

I gave y'all a sneak peek of a project I was working on earlier this month. I said then it would be revealed in full in due time. Well, it's time!

This little photo book is in Deb's hot little hands this morning! The book is CTMH My Creations All-Sorts Mini Album. I think everything in it is Scenic Route. How sad I am that these lovely papers and chipboard elements are no more. I've still got plenty in my stash though...hoarder that I am!!!

I hope you have a great day Debbie. Well, as great as it can be considering you've got to work and all! I think everyone should have their birthday off. And if I'm elected, that's the first bill I'll sign into law!

Perfect Day part 2

This is the second layout from the Perfect Day pack we got at Convention '08. This layout comes from CTMH Cherish and is called Color Celebration. Most everything again is CTMH. The mask, clock hand and breathe charm are all t!m holtz. Photo turns are from my stash. The quote is another that I picked up at the wonderful scrapbook store in Pigeon Forge, as is the "t" in the upper right corner of the second page. Title is Gin-X rub-ons.

Perfect Day

Working on cleaning up my hole! Found the Perfect Day layouts that Liane and I picked up from the class at Convention 2008 and bolted! Liane, as I remember, needed a nap. I spent the afternoon at the pool bar drinking Dirty Bloody Mary's. I was gonna work on the layouts when I got home. I've been home almost 2 years! 'Bout damn time I worked on them! Before I go to the upcoming Convention and get more stuff to bring home!!

In keeping with the "Procrastination At It's Finest" theme, I am finally scrapping the pictures from our 2008 trip to the Smoky's. To celebrate our 19th anniversary. In 10 days we will celebrate 21 years! Yep, just call me Madame Procrastinator!

Most everything on the layouts is CTMH. The "Smoky Mountain" tag I bought at the scrap store in Pigeon Forge, as well as the two quotations.

CPS challenge

Needing a card for my cousin's daughter who is graduating from Florida State University (GO NOLES!!) next month, I decided to use this weeks challenge at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/.

Kaylynn is graduating Magna Cum Laude. A double Major in Anthropology and History and a Minor in Museum Studies. She will do her Masters work in the double Majors and Minor at Georgia. From what her mom tells me, she wants to be "Bones" when she finishes school! The girl is smart as a whip, so I know anything she puts her mind to, she will accomplish.

The cardstock is from my stash. I pulled the FSU emblem off the internet. I used a Maaaatha Stewart punch for the center divider.

CardPatterns challenge

Another one of those great sketches at CardPatterns this week! Make it simple or make it elaborate!

I don't do enough guy cards, so that's where I went with this week's challenge. I pulled out the CYMH You Rock pp along with Star Power and Just Be You stamp sets. I used my Nesties to cut the squares. The star brads are from my stash and there's Ranger Distress Stickles Tattered Straw on the guitar and star for some distressed guy bling!

Pretties

Spring has arrived! At least at the azalea bushes! And one lone rose! There are teeny tiny mulberries on the tree. Hopefully we will get a few this year. Last year a late freeze killed the fruit and the second ones that formed weren't as plentiful and the birds ate them!

Temps are warming. Our lows are now in the 60's and our highs are in the mid to upper 70's. It won't be long and we'll see our first 80 degree high for the year and then it will be 90+!! Welcome to Florida. If you don't like the weather wait a minute and it'll change!

CPS challenge

Instead of cleaning my scraphole, I'm doing challenges!! Pulling out more stuff that I'll only have to put away later. Oh well! It's my mess and I'm the one who has to look at it. I did something to my right knee yesterday. Turned or stepped wrong. Who knows. I do know that it hurts like all get-out this morning, so I'm not feeling particularly ambitious towards cleaning. Not that I ever do!!

Anyway!

There is a wide open sketch at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ this week! So many different things you could do with it! I chose to do a card with a play on words. Using "birdy" for "birthday." Paper pack is CTMH Veranda along with Tiny Typewriter Alpha and Love Birds stamp sets. I paper pieced the bird wing and it and the bird are pop dotted. I also used some of the Japanese Washi tape that I got last year at CHA. Love the fact that you can pull it up and reposition it if you don't get it in the correct position the first (or twenty first!) time!! It's kinda hard to see, but there's brown, green and a mustard-y yellow tapes. It shows up better in real life!

Records...we broke 'em!

Now that Spring has officially arrived, we are getting data on our cold Winter. Seems there are quite a few records that we broke, or came damn close to breaking.

* St Pete- Average temp was 56.9 degrees. Coldest in 96 years of official record keeping. Second coldest was 1940.

*Tampa- Average temp was 55.6 degrees. Only 1978 was colder in 120 years of record keeping.

*St Leo College- which is close to me- Average temp was 54.8 degrees. Second coldest on record which was a blistering 54.6 degrees set in 1931.

*Brooksville- which is also close to me- Average here was 55.3 which broke the 1920 record.

So in short, it wasn't my imagination. It was C.O.L.D.

I saw a report the other day that said because of El Nino which is still holding strong in the Pacific, we could see more and stronger hurricanes this summer. Not looking forward to a repeat of the 2004 summer when we had 4 of the buggers go over the top of our house. May they all spin harmlessly over the water and do no harm to anyone.

The final one...

...for this go-round anyway! I need to move on! I've got projects sitting on the back burner, not the least of which is cleaning and purging this hole I call a scraproom. My work space has closed in on me since I've been working on these pics. Instead of putting away the toys I've been playing with, I just pulled out more. So nothing is where it's supposed to be. And while I am NOT a neat freak, this mess is getting the best of even me! So moving on.....................

This one uses CTMH Unforgettable pp. Another favorite of mine! Layout is another from Reflections and is called Bottom Border-Four In A Row. The chipboard is unknown from my stash and is inked in CTMH Cocoa. The small flowers on the B&T have Glossy Accents on the petals for some dimension. There's a piece of Sorbet ribbon and some crochet flowers as well. Oh, and a few buttons with Sorbet Waxy Flax.

Jake AND Joy

More Scenic Route papers and chipboard here. Bakers Twine is Maaatha Stewart. Random stamping is done with CTMH Cherished Flourishes in Desert Sand ink. Layout is from CTMH book, Reflections and is called Title Topper-Central Focus.

Spotlight on Jake

This layout uses mostly Scenic Route papers and embellishments. The Bookplate Frame is CTMH and is discontinued. BUT! It's the last one I have, so another something from my stash gone!! Layout is my version of another from Scrapbooks , Etc magazine. I've only got a couple more layouts to share, so soon we'll be moving on to other things. New and different things to bore you with! ;)

Still more Joy!

I think I see the finish line! I've got maybe 6 or 7 more groups of pictures left and I can call this project D.O.N.E!

This is another Imagine layout called Fiesta. The squares were done by placing chipboard behind the cardstock and running my bone folder around the edge, then coming back in with Sweet Leaf ink along the edge to give some dimension. The large circle is CTMH Dimensional Elements On Target. The chipboard "Joy" is from my stash and LONG forgotten where it came from! It was red and I used Judikins Mica Glaze Amethyst to paint it. Then I used my heat gun to "burn" away some of the edge color to give it a distressed look. Flowers are various ones from my stash, as is the "it's all about me" chipboard. Paper pack is CTMH Emporium.

Delight

Isn't that a lovely quote? "Delight in the little things that are all your own."

This layout is from the CTMH book, Imagine and is called Introduction. I'm using up paper packs, so the B&T's aren't matchy-matchy like they are in the book, but I used up what was left of this pack, so I'm happy! Other stuff used is CTMH Hollyhock twill ribbon and CTMH Filigree Charms. Stamp set is Delightful Things.

Jake and Joy

Mom had a bunch of Jake and Joy shots, so using CTMH Imagine and the Sweet Symphony layout, I got managed to get 7 pictures on a two page layout! With a few of the pictures being outside, I decided to go with CTMH Veranda pp. I used unknown rub-ons from my stash, along with CTMH Heartfelt Whimsy felt, cocoa ribbon, photo turns and photo anchors. The ginormous flower rub-on is dee's designs and I have no idea how long I've had it!!

My latest find

We all know how much I love me some t!m Holtz! So when I heard he was publishing a new book, I knew I had to have it. This has every tip, technique that t!m does in his classes and then some. Little did I know that when I ordered it, I'd be getting a signed copy and a free t!m designed apron to go with it! When the mailman brought it, I actually squeeled in delight! Then sat down and got drool marks all thorough the book! I've half a mind to wear my apron to the CTMH Convention! Somehow I think I'd be asked to take it off. So I'll be good and leave it at home!

Jake's turn

Second post today! Shall I try for three?

Working on some of Jake's picture's this morning. He plays both offense and defense for the Dunedin Jr Falcons and Joy is a cheerleader. Rah! Rah! Sis boom bah! Two bits, four bits, six bits a dollar. All for the Falcons stand up and holler! Or should that be "hollah"?! Do they even still do that cheer?!

This uses yet another retired CTMH pp called Game On. There's some Scenic Route chipboard covered in Bazzill paper, along with some t!m Holtz Grungeboard (the "F" in football.) There's an arrow from Deluxe Designs. Love that I'm finally getting to use some of my stash! Too bad both Deluxe Designs and Scenic Route are no longer in business.

CardPatterns challenge

Another great sketch this week at CardPatterns.

Even though Debbie says she's convinced she *needs* to buy the CTMH Caboodle pp, I thought I'd do just one more to be sure! You can call "uncle" and I'll quit twisting your arm Deb!

In addition to the Caboodle pp, this uses Embrace Life stamp set for the butterfly which I double stamped, cut the wings out and pop dotted for some visual flair. I also used Diamond Stickles on the wings and body for some bling. Too bad it doesn't photograph well. The large flower is from the new CTMH Just Blooms Spring Blossoms collection. I sponged some Creme Brulee ink along the edges for some contrast. The two smaller flowers are from my stash and unknown, as is the button brad. I used two pieces of ribbon from the CTMH Sorbet Ribbon Round collection.

CPS challenge

The stoopid newspaper wasn't here this morning, so what better way to use my time than work on the http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ challenge for this week?!

Debbie said I should keep using the CTMH Caboodle pp because she was almost convinced that she *needed* to buy it. So Deb, this one's for YOU!

I used CTMH Caboodle pp along with Enjoy Every Moment stamp set. With the time change last night, I can "feel" Spring coming, so this daisy stamp fits the bill. I also love the soft Spring-like colors used in Caboodle. I colored the flowers with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. And I used my Nesties scalloped Ovals to cut it out.

Kyle again!

Got one more Kyle layout complete! This one uses the CTMH Sweet Home Workshop on the Go layout. In addition to the stamp set that comes with this, I used Star Power, Shining Star, Wishing Star and Whimsy Lowercase alphabet.

We got another 1.75" of rain yesterday, so our two day total is 7.25". We sure did need it! Today the sun is shining brightly. A Chamber of Commerce day, just like advertised!

Eye lerned gud!

Another layout for the books! Mom had a few school pics of Kyle, so I incorporated them into one layout. Problem was, I forgot my spelling lessons! And rather than start fresh, I just crossed through the wrong letters. Pretty ingenious of me, don'tcha think?!

This uses another retired CTMH paper pack called Independence. I figured it would make a pretty good background for school pics! The chipboard is CTMH Dimensional Elements-Borders and Deluxe Designs. I used CTMH Star Struck to stamp some designs on the chipboard. I got the layout from an old Scrapbooks, Etc magazine. I tear the patterns out of the mags, so I don't know what issue it's from.

And totally unrelated, but equally important. We've had two days of glorious rain! I dumped 5.5" out of the rain gauge this morning and we've had more rain since, and it's still raining. They say it should start clearing up later this afternoon and we should have a Chamber of Commerce weekend. I'm ready to get in the yard and start cleaning up all of the dead plants from the freezes we've had this winter. With the time change coming on Sunday, I'm pretty much assured we won't get any more freezes, so I can cut the dead away without worrying about it freezing back more. I actually put shorts on yesterday for the first time in over 2 months!!!

CardPatterns challenge

Needing a quick Thank You card this morning, I turned to CardPatterns for a sketch.

I used CTMH Caboodle pp, along with CTMH Thank You and One of a Kind stamp sets. I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Leaf, then masked it and stamped the flowers using Buttercup and Crystal Blue. The flower on the side is stamped using Sorbet and has the "requisite" bling at the top of the flower.

Even More Joy!

Is there such a thing as too much Joy? If you ask her, I'm sure she'd tell you no!!

Sarah does digital layouts at http://www.scrapburbia.com/ on Mondays. And while I don't "do" digital, I do still have half of a boat-load of mom's pics left. Yes, they are slowly being whittled down!! So I used her sketch for one of the layout pages to get rid of a few more! I used the CTMH Caboodle pp and the new Irresistibles Lots of Dots alpha for my title. I used three different B&T papers and made some free-form flowers and my I Top to make my own brads for the flower centers.
