Week 28 Marjorie's color challenge

Marjorie, Mommy Scraps, is feeling "beachy" this week. Her color choices are Bamboo, Crystal Blue, Dessert Sand and Buttercup. My mind didn't go to the beach, but to the woods in fall! I used my waterbrush and picked up Crystal Blue and Garden Green out of the lids of the stamp pads for the sky and grass. The went back into the Garden Green and made some grass tufts. I used Bamboo for the trees in the background and Desert Sand for the ones in the foreground. Then I took a piece of Desert Sand cardstock and weaved it in and out just to give a bit of visual interest.

Marjorie's color challenge week 27

Summer colors for Marjorie this week! Bubblegum, Kiwi, Sunny Yellow and Watermelon. Her inspiration is the color of spring and summer flowers.

I pulled out Thoughts of You stamp set and used first and second generation stamping on the flowers. Then stamped the stems of the flowers. Pulled my Cuttlebug out with the Funky Squares embossing folder. I inked up one side of the embossing folder with Watermelon ink so it gives a little more dimension! Used my Fiskars scallop punch on the Sunny Yellow cardstock. A pretty simple card that went together in ablut 15 minutes!

Color challenge week 27/OCC challenge week 4

Taking a cue from Sparkle My Life, Creations, and Tribulations... and combining challenges!

Marjorie's Mommy Scraps color choices this week were Sweet Leaf, Buttercup and Honey with one additional color choice of your own. Mine was Petal. I used Seed Packets and Adorable Backgrounds. Decided to mix things up a bit and make the front part where you could open it as well and put the sentiment in there.

For OCC Our Creative Corner I added a couple of extra layers, but I like the way it makes the card look.

This is what's known as...

I cut too many circles!

Marjorie's color challenge 25 is in honor of Independence Day. This week, the colors are Cranberry, Moonstruck, Lilac Mist and White Daisy. I dug deep into my stamps for a couple from last summer, Summertime and Free Spirit. I grabbed my Coluzzle and the circles template and commenced to cut circles out of Moonstruck, Cranberry and Sunny Yellow cardstock. And I cut too many! So there's two cards for this challenge. The "Summertime" is stamped in Lilac Mist. I ran a piece of Cranberry cardstock thru my SwissDots Cuttlebug embossing folder, then just added the circles, in no particular pattern. The other, I stamped the image in Cranberry, then used my Prismacolor pencils and blending pencil to color the image. Just circles on White Daisy cardstock makes this a pretty simple card.

Color challenge 24

This week Marjorie chose Ocean, Citrus Leaf, Orange, Breeze and Sunny Yellow as her colors. I had taken pics of the kids at Kyle's graduation partay and knew what the layout was gonna look like, but had not decided on my colors. This challenge sealed the deal for me!

I used my wavy cutter and cut strips of Sunny Yellow, Citrus Leaf and Ocean for "waves", then mounted everything on Orange cardstock. Used my E size Boutique Alphabet for my title. Funky Fish stamp set, then put them thru my Zyron "X" backwards and put Prisma Glitter on the front of them. Their "bubbles" are Dew Drops. And a few buttons from my stash tied with Colonial White Waxy Flax.

TwoFer Tuesday/Marjorie's color challenge

Marjorie's color challenge for week 23 was inspired by one of her daughter Caitie's outfits. Colors are Chocolate, Goldrush, Holiday Red, Crystal Blue and Sunflower.

I had one House Mouse stamp and yesterday recieved my second one in the mail, so I knew I had to get some ink on that new stamp! Coinkadinkally, my first House Mouse stamp is of a sunflower! So I decided to do a TwoFer! I used CTMH markers and my Prismacolor markers and blending pen to color the images. Used Caprice paper pack, CTMH Sunflower waxy flax and some MM button brads from my stash.

Color Challenge week 22

In honor of Father's Day, Marjorie's color challenge this week is her husband's favorite colors; New England Ivy, Twilight, Cranberry and Outdoor Denim. This was a good excuse for me to get some of the pictures on the back of my scrap table on a layout! Kathy had sent pictures of Kyle in a tux for his Senior Portrait and one of him at the school, so I decided to use those two. I used some of my rub-ons flourishes and rub on letters from my stash. The small ones are MM and the large ones are Gen-X. Also used red, white, and blue magic Mesh to highlight the journaling. CTMH Cranberry conchos on the journaling.

Color Cahllenge week 21

Marjorie's in Summer mode this week. Her color choices were Star Spangled Blue, Topiary, Sunflower and Cranberry. I needed to make a card for a little girl who is undergoing chemo for leukemia. Her adult friends are asking everyone to send a card to Mackenzie this coming Fri, the 6th. I was waiting for Marjorie to post her color challenge so I could use that to make my card for Mackenzie. Once again, I dug into my stash for inspiration. I stamped the solid flower from Rustic Flowers stamp set, then mixed some Aztec Gold Pearl Ex in Mod Podge and "painted" my flower. Let it dry, then using my black marker, went around the entire outside edge of the flower with dashes. The clear button is CTMH and has a piece of red Magic Mesh and Sunflower waxy flax tied on. The entire flower is pop-dotted. The stripe and circle cardstock is unknown from my stash . I drew different designs on the circles for some added interest. I used Say It In Style stamp set for the sentiment.

If anyone is interested in sending a card to Mackenzie on Friday, email me or leave a comment and I'll send you the address. I'm not gonna post it here! And the card does not have to be handmade! So you non-crafters can send one too! Help make a sick little girl smile! ;)

Color Challenge 20

Here is my contribution for Marjorie's Color Challenge number 20. Her colors this week were Moonstruck, Watermelon, Hydrangea and Heavenly Blue. I drug my Cuttlebug out and put it to good use! The card itself is embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. Then I used Watermelon, Moonstruck and Heavenly Blue cardstock and my Nestabilities to cut the scalloped and straight edged rectangles. Stamp set is Thoughts of You for the flower and April Word Puzzle for the Beauty sentiment. I used my belnding brush and Hydrangea to color the flower. A piece of skinny white ribbon from my stash completes the card. And since I love to kill two birds with one stone, I did extra's of these to have for Convention swap cards. And see, you thought I was actually gonna do one whole post and not mention Convention! Wrong!!!

Marjorie's Color Challenge #19

Number 19 already?! Wow, time sure does fly when you're having fun!

Marjorie's color choices for this week are Ocean, Breeze, Honey and Goldrush. I decided to use one of the Emerson Quillin images that Liane RAK'd me with last week. Emerson Quillin : American Art Stamp I just love the sass of these ladies! I used my Prismacolor pencils to color them, using colors pretty darn close to Breeze and Ocean! Then I drug the edge of the cardstock thru my Ocean and Breeze ink pads. Found some Wild Asparagus paper in my stash that matched the Honey and Goldrush pretty close, and a piece of a honey-colored corrugated paper from my stash. I piece of black and white ribbon with a piece of black ric-rac from my stash completes this card. First person to comment on the card gets it in the mail!

Color challenge #18

Marjorie's going girlie this week! Pink Carnation, Baby Pink, Kiwi and Key Lime were our 4 colors.

I had gotten the new stamp set Cottage Floral last week and had yet to ink it up, so today was as good a time as any. The flowers are done in the two pinks, with a twist. I inked them up, then lightly misted with water. The leaves are done in the 2 greens with the same water misting technique. It really softened the colors. Then I came back with my Sakura Jelly Roll pens and added some green and red highlights. Some bling and a white brad for flower centers. The papers are all unknown out of my stash and the ribbon is a piece of leftover that I had custom painted using blush reinker and our Pearl Paint.

Color challenge 17

They don't call it a challenge for nuttin'! Marjorie found some summery paper and chose her colors from that paper. Holiday Red, Orange, Sunflower and Bubblegum. I'm gonna go ahead and list the other colors I used, cuz there's a bunch! Grey Wool, Sweet Leaf, Cocoa, Brown Bag, Sunkiss Yellow, and Chocolate.

Liane had sent me a RAK of Bella images I don't have, and one of them is Puppy Bella. I used the Holiday Red, Orange, Sunflower and Bubblegum on her dress, shoes, hair bow and the puppy's bow. Chocolate, Brown Bag and Cocoa were used on the puppy. Sunkiss Yellow, Cocoa and Brown bag on Bellas hair. Then I outlined everything in Grey Wool for some dimension. I used my new Spot On stamp and stamped the 4 color challenge colors on white texture cardstock, then divided the colors using White Daisy and Sweet Leaf RicRac. Used my Deckle scissors to cut the large Sweet Leaf oval. Took my deckle scissors to a Big Pink flower, then used Fruit Punch Stickles to cover the petals. Found an orange button in my stash and used that for my flower center. A bit of Lime Green Stickles around the outside of the white oval and add one more to the record books!

Marjorie's color challenge 16

Only three colors this week for Marjorie's color challenge. Blush, Hollyhock and Garden Green. I added Honey and Goldrush and a bit of Olive on the stems.

I needed to make Mother's Day cards, so that was my inspiration. I dug out Simple Beauty and Flower Child stamp sets. The Simple Beauty I random stamped, then used CTMH markers and colored the images. Added a big of Stickles in the flower centers for my required bling! Then I stamped the Flower Child images and used my Prismacolor pencils to color them in and the blending brush to soften the colors a bit. Cut them out and pop-dotted them on Garden Green and Hollyhock cardstock. The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is also from the Simple Beauty set. I used my Honey ink pad and drug the edges of the card thru it to give a bit of pop.

Marjorie's color challenge #'s 14 and 15

Because we were away last week, I didn't get a chance to do Marjorie's challenge. And I've been working on swaps all week trying to get caught up and done with them. Now that they are complete, I can get back to my regular stuff!

Week 14 color challenge was Vineyard Berry, Ocean, Topiary and Hollyhock. I added Sunkiss Yellow into the mix! I used our June SOM, With Love. The vase is pop-dotted and the flower centers all have diamond bling! The textured Sunkiss Yellow cardstock was run thru my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Week 15 color challenge was Barn Red, Crystal Blue, Bamboo and White Daisy. For this I dug out Balloonabella and used my Twinkling H2O's to paint her. There is shimmer to her dress and balloons, but it doesn't photograph well. I used my Nestabilities scalloped rectangle in my Cuttlebug to cut the white cardstock she's on. Three Sew Drops give some added bling! The "celebrate" sentiment is from Card Commentary and is triple stamped in Crystal Blue, Bamboo and Barn Red. (Forgive the Topiary line thru the middle of the Bella image. That'll teach me to CLOSE my ink pad before I start taking pictures!)

Color Challenge 13

Marjorie made life interesting this week with her color challenge. Goldrush, Sunkiss Yellow, Sweet Leaf and Autumn Terra Cotta. First thing I thought of is another of our new Stamp of The Month stamp sets. This one won't be available til July, but I think it's my favorite of our SoM's for this catalog. It's called Life Is A Jungle and has a couple of other animals and sentiments, but you'll just have to wait to see all of them!

I used various leaf stamps and cut them out of the leaf pattern B&T paper from Wild Adventures paper pack (retired). The toucan is done in Sunkiss Yellow, the lion in Goldrush and the Alligator in Sweet Leaf. I used Autumn Terra Cotta as the card base.

Color Challenge 12

As soon as I saw Marjorie's color choices for this week's color challenge, I knew I wanted to use Friendship Blessing stamp set! The color choice for this week is Citrus Leaf, Orchid Bouquet, Crystal Blue and Pink Carnation. Bright and vibrant! I knew I wanted to put the flowers on a black background to make them pop. I ran the black cardstock thru my Cuttlebug and used the Distressed Lines embossing folder. I stamped the flowers in Orchid Bouquet, Crystal Blue and Pink Carnation. The leaf in Citrus Leaf with Topiary as an accent color. Cut everything out and attached it to the black cardstock with varying sizes of pop dots to give height and dimension. I used the White Daisy Pigment ink pad to make the flower border for the bottom of the card. Hit it with my heat gun to set the ink, then used our original White Daisy ink pad and drug the torn edge thru it. Used some bling, a retired flower button and an old Connections Club bling flower for the flower centers. This card turned out just like the picture in my head!

Convention card/Color challenge 11

OK, so I putzed around yesterday and never got these finished OR posted! Here ya go:

First is a Prezziebella Birthday card for Convention swaps. Paper pack is Simple Pleasures and I random stamped HB with different stamp sets in Bamboo, Twilight, Cocoa, andDesert Sand. Prezzie is colored with Prismacolor colored pencils and the present has Stickles. Dew Drops on the scalloped edge.

Marjorie's color challenge for this week was Heavenly Blue, Sweet Leaf, Buttercup and Chocolate. Only 1 green this week!!! Woo Hoo!! ;-)
I ran chocolate cardstock thru Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. I stamped one of my non-CTMH Oriental image stamps in Chocolate, then used Sweet Leaf and Heavenly Blue markers to color it in. Then applied Glossy Accents over the Heavenly Blue for some dimension. I cut it out using Nestabilities scallop cutter in Cuttlebug, then pop-dotted it on a piece of Sweet Leaf cardstock. I double stamped the HB sentiment in Buttercup and Heavenly Blue and found a piece of ribbon in my stash that matched the colors pretty darn close! I like the simplicity of this card.

Color challenge #10

It's not easy being green! Marjorie is feeling St Patrick's Day in a big way this week. Kiwi, Buttercup, Citrus Leaf and Topiary are the colors of choice.

For this card I used Frogs and Friends (retired) and Doodle Alphabet. Cardstock and B&T are from Wild Adventure (retired.) I used my brand spanking new Prismacolor colored pencils that I just bought for 25% off this morning at Michael's as some highlight coloring on the frogs! The frogs each have googlie eyes from my stash. The dragonfly is Prisma glittered for just a bit of bling! The top part of the leaf, both frogs and the dragonfly are pop dotted but it doesn't show up well in the picture.

Color challenge #9

Marjorie is thinking Spring in her color choices for this week! Hollyhock, Sunkiss Yellow, Sweet Leaf and Cranberry were her color choices, plus we could add one additional color of our choice. Mine was Petal. I decided to random stamp White Daisy cardstock using Blooming Flourishes and the words from Seed Packets since it was sitting on my scrap table. Then I stamped one of the seed packets in Cranberry and backed it with a piece of Cranberry cardstock. I attached a white photo hanger and a piece of Hollyhock ribbon to that. I had a small scrap of Cuttlebug embossed Hollyhock cardstock also on my scrap table, so that's what I used for the tab of the file folder card with the seeds of love sentiment also from the Seed Packet stamp set.

Color challenge 8

Marjorie is really trying my brain this week! But I'll give her a break since she's not been feeling well. You take care of yourself girl. We miss you on the CTMH bb's!

Anyway, her colors for this week were Clover Green, Key Lime, Sunny Yellow and Breeze. My first thought was if nothing else, it will be colorful! I decided the colors said "Spring" to me So I pulled out the April Word Puzzle stamp set. I random stamped white cardstock, then found a flower foam stamp for the focal point. Stamped it in Breeze then used my water color pencils and blending brush for the yellow. I used the scallop edge from the Serendipity stamp set and stamped out a piece of Key Lime cardstock then stamped the Happy Springtime sentiment in Clover Green. I found the metal letters in my stash and tied a piece of white ribbon on them. Two square yellow brads from my stash complete the card.

Now I'm off to vacuum the house. Darn long hair between their toes, litter tracking all over the house cats anyway!!
