Sept means it's time for a new tag in Tim's 12 tags of 2012. Can't believe we've only got 3 more tags and 2012 will be over!
Of course, I had to put the Sue Spin on the tag! Can't copy The Man exactly. He's the one who first gave me "permission" to march to the beat of my own drummer. I found it so refreshing after taking classes from other designers who wanted you to do the project just. like. theirs. Why on Earth would you want to have people copy YOUR work exactly? I never understood that. And the very first class I ever took from t!m...ohhh...8 or 10 years ago, he told the entire class that he didn't want to see cookie cutter projects that looked just like his. Do your own thing. Do what makes you feel good. He's had me from that moment! But anyway!!
I used the foil sheets cut randomly and applied randomly to my tag. Then used the alcohol inks to distress. I've been in a decidedly Halloween creative mood here lately, so that is the direction I went in. Used one of Tim's GrungeBoard birds and used Enamel Accents to make it a crow (with a diamond eye!) Then used a couple of his metal numbers and painted them day-glow icky green as my dad used to call it! As I was looking for the bird, the arrow fell out of my GrungeBoard stash so I took that to mean it wanted a place on the tag, so it got a coating of silver paint dabber then once dry, it and the numbers got a dry brushing of black acrylic paint to grunge them up a bit. The spider is from my stash as are the two "apothecary" tags.

Love your take on the tag, great background.
Wow Sue, your tag is gorgeous, love the pops of colour against the industrial background - a real treat for the eyes.
Now that I have read what Tim said to your class I will try and be different next month, I guess I read him all wrong and thought he wanted us to learn from his techniques - I still have a lot to learn but thanks for the heads up! Crafty hugs, Anne x
I love that you went Halloween with this tag! It looks wonderful!
Love this Sue, especially the raven, he takes pride of place with the other embellishments around. A great original make.

SUE! I love your tag!!! That apothecary label is perfect for that gorgeous raven! The icky green numbers really make me happy! What a fabulous and creative take on Tim's tag! And, you are so right about making projects with teachers...do your thing!!!
Love the background on the tag! Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
Amazing Background! I love all the colors you used!!! Love it!
Love the tag, especially the neon numbers against the silver background-very cool!
This is a brilliant tag Sue! Love your unique spin on this months tag. The raven is amazing and I love the dayglo number and especially how you have attached it to the tag. I so agree with you about us putting our own spin on projects... it's the only way to go! xx
