December 12 Tags of 2013
Winding down 2013 with the final tag of the year. Tim's got a great tutorial using Wendy Vecchi's Clearly For Art Modeling Film. I had never used it so this was a great opportunity for me to try it. I don't have the poinsettia Sizzix die, so I used my Tattered Flowers die and improvised. I rather like how it turned out! I hope you do too!

12 Tags of 2013-November
Time once again for Tim's November 2013 Tag of the Month. This was one of the two that I was waiting on my online order to arrive so I could complete my CC102 class tags, so this one is doing double duty!
I did the tag just as Tim describes in his tutorial, the only difference being I don't have any of the Sizzix Framelets stamp/die sets. So I just used the Autumn Blueprints stamp set instead and fussy-cut the leaf image to layer it. I have also become obsessed with making fabric flowers, so I had to use some of Tim's wonderful fabric line and make a flower to go on my tag.

12 tags of 2013 October
Seriously, where IS 2013 going in such a hurry? I swear I just posted September's tag and it's time for October's!
Anyway, Tim is using his delicious new Distress Glitter on his October tag. Since I've only got three of the colors, I had to get creative with my selection of images. I have Festive Berries, Peacock Feathers and Antique Linen. So I decided I'd use the birdcage from the Caged Bird die and one of Dyan's skulls from her Pin Up Girl stamp set. The birdcage uses the Antique Linen Distress Glitter and the skull uses Festive Berries and Peacock Feathers. I had a small tag laying on my table and used it for my mop-up and sentiment. I found a couple of pieces of foam candy corn (Tim's FAVORITE!) in my stash and used a bit of Stickles on them for some added bling!

12 Tags of 2013-September
The calendar may say it's September, but it's still blazing hot here in Florida! We are still approaching 90 degrees every day with our summer cool us off afternoon thundershowers slowly waning away. It's been a wet summer for us, but we needed the rain.
Tim's got a GREAT tag this month! It uses his new layering stencils. I just took a class last night at Whim So Doodle in St Pete with the always fabulous Dina Wakely and got 6 of the I think 10 stencils that are available. So this morning I got inky again after being very inky last night!
I started with Distress Stains in Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers and Peeled Paint and then followed along with Tim's instructions for layering the different stencils. The ones I didn't have that he used, I jsut used others out of my ever growing stach of stencils. And taking a cue from Tim's lead, I punched a hole in all of my stencils this morning and put them on a book ring and will get some cup hooks they next time I am out and hang them where I can access them easily. Then they are out of the way and I'm not bending them up!
I've got a couple of "Manly" birthdays coming up, so I used the new Brett Weldele/Tim collaboration stamp set, The Chemist, for my main image.

12 Tags of 2012-July
Time once again for Tim's12 Tags of 2012, the July version!
I got to see him demo the brayer technique on Sunday at StampFest Orlando! First time I've gotten to see him demo in person since he doesn't do any demos when he's reaching. Course I could have stood there all day and watched "The Master" at work, but we needed to get home. Vacation was a blast and once I get my gozillion pictures sorted, I'll be doing a post on that!
I used one of Dyan's silhouette stamp retro dress images because I needed a more feminine image to go with the quote I wanted to use, but did the technique as Tim describes in his blog post. I kept my background soft by using Broken China, Victorian Velvet and Dried Marigold Distress Stains. I went around my quote and the dress with my Stablio Black pencil then softened the hard lines a bit with some water.

12 tags of 2013 June
It's time once again for the 12 tags of 2012. This month, Tim is delving into the world of watercoloring.
I decided I'd do my tag in a Father's Day theme. I used the Brett Weldele/Tim collaboration stamp set, Time Traveller for my image and watercolored the image as Tim instructed in his blog post. I used a Distress Ink pad, Distress Paint and Distress Stain to color the tag, then stamped various word stamps and Tim's chicken wire stamp on the tag as well.

May 12 Tags of 2013
Good grief! Another month gone. This work gig is seriously cutting into my creative time!!
I actually made this tag the first week of the month and took pics and sent it off to my Favorite Youngest Nephew and now I don't remember what-all I did to it!
You can see Tim's instructions and his tag here. I used Brett Weldele's collaboration with Tim's stamp set, Time Traveller and Tim's new rub-on's as well as his new Distress Paints. There is also some White Signo Uniball highlighting.

12 tags of 2013 April
Has it really been almost a month since I blogged?! Sheesh. You'd think a girl had gone back to work or somethng! Amazing how quickly the time gets away from me now. But I am loving being back in the workforce. Love having a reason to get up and get moving in the mornings. And as an added bonus, I had my 6 months Primary Doctor check at the end of last week. Since I started working in October, I've lost 22 lbs! It's that getting up and moving around and being active again. Not sitting here at my computer or at my scrap table all day and grabbing a cookie every time I'd walk thru the kitchen! And I wasn't trying to consciously lost any weight because when I say I'm gonna lose weight, I gain weight! I knew my work clothes that I bought when I started at Whole Foods Market were feeling loose on me, but not 22 pounds worth!
Anyway! You didn't come here to hear me blather on! You came to see some art!
Tim's got a fantastic blog post using his new Metallic Distress paints to make a tag look like patina'd metal. I made a quick trip to Whim So Doodle last week to get these fabulous new Metallics. If you've still not tried Tim's new Distress Paints, I don't know what you are waiting for! Their fluidity (is that even a word?!) and how they blend and mix when you spray them with water and how once they are dry, you can add other layers on top and wet them and the initial Paint layer will not re-wet and move. Just amazing stuff!
I pretty much stuck to Tim's how-to on applying the paint to my tag and embellishments. I don't have the Clearly For Art plastic, so I just used some regular plastic packaging and it pretty much did the same as the Clearly For Art did. I used his little boy with wings stamp instead of the butterfly Tim used and did the wings in the plastic. There's also a Christy Tomlinson rub-on doily on my tag. And you can see where part of the doily didn't adhere to the tag as I was rubbing it on. Oh well! It's a unique doily!!

12 Tags of 2013-March
Figured I'd best get my entry done for Tim's 12 tags of 2013-March before I ran out of month! As I said to sister Jan the other day, March is marching right along!
Of course I don't have all of his cool new toyz that were released at Winter CHA, so I improvised. I decided on a more Spring-like tag instead of an Easter-ish one. I used my Cricut and cut out the smaller tag and bird. Then used Tim's technique as shown on his blog to do the Tinsel Twine. I used some 7Gypsies tissue paper to cover my Ranger #10 tag. I used some CTMH ribbon and cut it to make my "grass" and the stems of my flowers are also CTMH ribbon. The large flower in the upper right corner was one I had left over from Tim's Tattered Floral challenge and since items in groups of threes is supposed to be more pleasing to the eye, I decided I'd use it as well.

12 tags of 2013-February
Tim is using a bunch of new products from CHA on his gorgeous February tag. Stuff I don't have. Yet! So never one to let that stop me, I used what I did have. The heart is from a now retired CTMH set called Love Language. I did use Distress Markers to color in some areas on the stamp to make them pop out a bit. I used my new Distress Paints in Fired Brick, Spun Sugar and Black Soot to color my tag with. And can I just say how much I love the fluidity of these paints. Oh My but they blend and spread so well!! And unlike Distress Stains and Inks, once you heat dry the layers, they will no longer re-wet when you add additional layers and/or water. I also love how they color the wrinkle ribbon. I used some Bakers Twine I had and ran my blending tool with Vintage Photo Distress Ink over it to give it an aged look. And since I didn't have any of the cash keys, I used a bottle top instead. Sorry about the glare. Inside the bottle cap says I Love You.
