New product sneak peek

Yep, it's that time again. Feb 1 is the day the new CTMH Idea Book goes live to customers. I am once again participating in 2nd Upline Susan's team swap. I normally do two rounds but I was having too much fun and this time I'm doing three! Debbie will reap the benefits since all of the cards I get back will go into the box for her Run/Walk in April.

The first set is made with Footloose. It was my top choice when I saw it in the book. So beachy, summery, FUN! I always buy the Workshop on The Go (WOTG) because it comes with a stamp set and at least one and usually two sets of embellishments and it's cheaper to buy the WOTG than to buy all of the components separately. Plus you get a booklet that gives you two layout options and options for cards as well. I used my wave cutter to cut the Lagoon blue piece along the left edge of the card then used Stardust Glitz Glitter Glue on it and the seahorse. I used the Bamboo cardstock and using every stamp in the stamp set, Random Stamped the cardstock then cut it up to use on my cards.

Second is Pemberley. This one was a close second as far as favorites go. Until I saw it in person! It quickly became number one. It is so my colors! Love the blues, yellows and soft greys. I used Pinky to cut out the cards. (LOVE that the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge has cards that the machine cuts out FOR you! This one also uses the new Wooden Shapes-Flowers which I used my markers to color and then used Glitz Glitter Glue and Liquid Glass on. We have new color ready seam binding too and I used t!m's method of swiping my ink on my mat then spritzing with water and coloring the seam binding that way. Love the look it gave. I used two different patterns of the B&T to use as the bases and I don't know which one I like better!

And finally is Crusin'. This is gonna be a great seller for all those vacation pics. Corp was also very clever in using the map of Texas on one side of the papers since Convention will be in Dallas this year. The bottle caps add just that little extra something. And it's hard to tell in the pic, but I used Liquid Glass on the gas pump for some shine.

Wii have a new toy!

John wanted some sort of reward for quitting smoking. And he's been wanting a Wii (even though he's got an X Box!) so yesterday wii went out and bought one. How fun is it? I will unashamedly brag about the fact that I kicked his @ss at bowling and golf. However, I got mine kicked at cycling, archery AND frisbee! Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Toys

So here's the new toys I got at Whim So Doodle the other day.

New Zing! Embossing Powders. My Scrapbooks, Etc magazine that came the other day said these are more vibrant and true to life than other ep's. Well see! Also the ever elusive Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch! I hunted high and low for it last year to no avail, so when I saw it, I knew I had to have it! And Silver Glimmer Mist. W-S-D is one of the first local stores to carry Glimmer Mist. I plan to use it for a more subtle effect on flowers and such than Stickles or Prisma Glitter.

Couldn't go without getting some new t!m stuff!! Sprockets and Philosophy words and tags to use for something! Don't quite know what yet, but they WILL get used!

t!m Masks! Alphabet, swirly flourish and a gear that John threw in the basket because he loved it. He is my biggest champion and enabeler!

Coredinations Cardstock. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Love the idea of having a core that is a different color than white like our CTMH cardstock or the same color like Bazzill cardstock. If you look at the bottom strip, that is the core color. Imagine this torn and distressed! I've got all sorts of ideas to use this. W-S-D is the first local store to carry Coredinations as well. But you can find it online. http://www.coredinations.com/

New schtuff!

I had two 40% off coupons from Michael's that were burning a hole in my pocket, so when John and I went out to run errands on Sunday, we went to Mike's and used them both! And in the process, got two 50% off coupons to use starting this coming Sunday! I got some new t!m Holtz Fragments that are different shapes other than circles or squares and have a hole in one end that you can thread fiber through. I got a new Xacto knife since the one I'm currently using was my dad's and I've used all eleventy-billion blades he had and I can't find the size blade it takes anywhere. Mike's had the new EK Success punches on sale 40% too, so I got the two that have been calling my name since they came out! Just doing my part to stimulate the economy!!

New Toyz!

I had to go to JoAnn's yesterday to get refills for my little Xyron "X." I use it for attaching ribbon to cards. John told me I could spend $60. And I assured him that there wasn't anything that I needed that was $60! I would run in, get the refills and run out. I'd spend ten bucks, if that. OH SILLY ME!!! Little did I know that they had basically all of their scrap stuff on sale! I'd been eyeing the Fiskars Elegant Fountain punch for a while now, but I won't pay full price for them. They were 40% off and it jumped in my hand as I walked by! Who am I to say no! Then, since Michael's IS right across the street, I figured I'd go see what they had. And they are carrying a new line of punches, made by EK Success. These lock down when not in use, to make storage easier!!! Two caught my eye right away. One that looks like the tabs you get when you pull a piece of notebook paper out of a spiral bound notebook. And the other was just two rows of dots. I'm not digging the two rows of dots one now that I've actually punched with it, so I'm gonna return it for something else. They were on sale too, so I had to tell John last night that because I only bought stuff that was on sale, I "saved" him almost $20!! Plus, I "only" spent $44 of the $60 he said I could...so when I go to take the one punch back, I'm gonna see what else I can buy for the other $16! Hee hee!!

New stamps

I wanted these stamp sets from the instant I saw them, procrastinated and missed out on them and they sold out. But recently they got more in stock, so I jumped on them! I was a quilter in an earlier life, so the Quilter's Sampler really spoke to me. My Paternal Grandmother was an owl lover, and she passed her love of owls on to me. I love these because all of the elements are separate, so you can customize the owls and make each one unique. You can find them herePapertrey Ink - Quality Acrylic Stamps, Cards & Stationery They have fabulous customer service and any order over $50.00 gets free shipping!

I used the new CTMH Notebook paper pack for both. I've got a head-full of ideas for both sets, so you'll be seeing more of them in the coming days!

The beauty of it all

Isn't it beautiful?! And aren't I sad to be so flipping excited over a dishwasher?! A dishwasher, people!!

The guy showed up and said he'd been trying to call. Phone never rang! He was trying to call the old house number. The one we got rid of over 6 months ago! And went exclusively with our cell phones. Nobody ever called on the house phone except solicitors which I never talked to anyway, so why pay for them to call and hang up when the "butler" answered?!

AnyWay!!

They guy asks if he can install it now? Umm, does a bear...you know...in the woods?! C'mon in here so's I can kiss you! YES you can install it now. Well, I have to take every. thing. out from under the kitchen sink. Yay! He had the old unit out in no time flat. Re-did some wiring. took the old unit out. Brought the new unit in. Hooked it up. Turned it on. It does not sound like a jet is landing and/or taking off in my kitchen any more. Man is that thing quiet! Sweet!!

So now I have this ginormous mess to go clean up in my kitchen. So I can get my chicken pot pie and sour cherry pie going for dinner. It will be a pleasure to load my new baby and turn her on for her first run tonight!
