for now on the Everyday Celebrations cutting guide and using up different papers. This is what I had left of the Stardust paper pack. I like the sort of whimsical effect that this paper pack gives the cards. I'll go back to doing this cuz I still have a few more card sets to make, but as usual, I'm bored with doing the same old, so I've got to do something different for a while!

CPS challenge
Another winner sketch at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ this week!
Using (and giving another sneak peek!) at some of the new CTMH papers and stamp sets that become available on Sept 1.
This is my favorite of the four new paper packs. It's called Grace and it is just beautiful. The stamp set is Sept SOM called Treasures. I used my Nestabilities to cut the center. The dandelion is embossed and pop dotted. The sentiment, "Make A Wish" is also embossed. And since I still cant sew a straight line, there's numerous stitches for some added visual interest!

CardPatterns Challenge
Love the sketch at CardPatterns this week!
I'm giving another sneak peek at a new stamp and paper pack from CTMH. The paper pack, called Jingle, will be available to customers Sept 1. The stamp set is the Oct Stamp of the Month and can only be ordered during Oct and can be earned free with qualifying purchase. The tree is embossed with white EP. The snowflakes I used Winter Wonderland EP, which has glitter mixed in the EP. The swirls are stamped using CTMH Playful Flourishes stamp set and I used Prisma Glitter on them.

Another take...
On the Everyday Celebration cards. I liked the cutting guide so much, I decided I'd use up some paper packs and make Christmas gifts. I know, I KNOW! It's August! But I like getting the hand-made stuff done early. I used a bunch of different stamp sets with this set as I will with the rest that I do. I like giving people options with the cards I make for them to use! Not saying who this set (or any of the others) will be going to since some of the peeps read! So they'll be able to see them, but they won't know which ones are theirs til they open them! Yes, I am a sneaky biotch!

CardPatterns challenge
Another cool sketch at CardPatterns this week. I needed a birthday card, so that's the direction I took.
You get another sneak peek at a new CTMH paper pack that will make it's debut Sept. 1. This one is called Grace and it's by far my favorite of the 4 new paper packs. There is not one of the B&T's that I don't like in this pack. You get to see a bit of four of them! I distressed all the edges and staggered them on the card. The butterfly is from Flutter and the sentiment is from Happy Birthday. The buttons are a stamp! Called Buttoned Together and it's got lots of different sizes and styles of buttons. I joined them together with a bit of common household string! The butterfly has both regular and distressed Stickles on the wings and is pop dotted.

Susan T swap, part duex
This is my Christmas card that will be winging it's way to Susan tomorrow. I based it off one of the cards I did at CHA . I used the new Jingle paper pack, along with the Oct SOM called Holiday Warmth. There's some Stickles on the gift on the front and also on the tree tag that pulls up.
I'll be doing a few more sneal peeks here and there with new products, so stay tuned!

Susan's swap
With our new CTMH Idea Book release coming up on Sept 1, we are working fast and furious on our swaps to have them to Susan so she can get them back to us to have examples of our new paper packs to share with our customers. She is doing two rounds this time. One is general cards and the other is Holiday cards. Holiday being Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas since there are so many new stamp sets to choose from! I'm doing one card in each round. This is my general card. I used the new Twitterpated paper pack (think woodsey-outdoorsey) along with two new stamp sets; Grown With Love for the tree and three of the circles on the tree and Thank You for the sentiment. The chipboard "buttons" are a new Dimensional Element called In Color and you get 27 buttons for $3.50. Stay tuned for my Christmas card!
It's kinda hard to tell in the picture, but the center part where the tree is, is recessed. I thought it gave a bit of visual interest to the card.

Finally!
All of the pics from the dining room wall are finally scrapped and in an album! Such a weight off my shoulders! This is the final layout I'm sharing. This one John took of me hanging my ass out over the ledge of the raging Yellowstone River down below! That tree was still standing by gumption only. There sure weren't a lot of roots left in the ground...most were over the abyss!

the week of the layout!
Only one more layout to do! I'm on a roll and I'm just gonna go with it! I saw a layout similar to this (I think! This is the way my brain remembers if, and since I didn't take a picture of it, who knows!) at CHA last week and liked the way it looked.
These are from Oct 1997 when Jan, John, John and I went to N'Awlins! We STILL talk about how much fun that trip was! We didn't get a whole helluva lot of sleep while we were there, but man did we have a blast.

Another scrapbook page!
I keep picking away at the pile of pictures that was on the dining room wall! This is John's sister JoAnn and her husband Bill. I used a card design from Wishes, CTMH's new Card Confidence idea book. I liked the look of the card design and just blew it up to a 12 x12 size! I used CTMH paper pack, Chocolate alphabet and Boutique Borders stamp sets.

CPS challenge
One of my favorite people is the sponsor for this week's challenge at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/! Susan Tomaino is a wonderful friend and I love her to pieces!
I used CTMH Bella paper pack, along with Endless Friendship stamp set. The edges of the B&T are sponged with Olive ink. Flower centers have Prisma Glitter for a bit of bling!

CardPatterns challenge
CardPatterns has another winner sketch this week.
I'm giving a bit of a sneek peek of the CTMH Sept SOM with this one. It's called "Treasures" and it has dandelions and sentinments and is really versatile! I stamped the medium size dandelion on a piece of pre-printed cardstock and sponged the edges of the cs with Desert Sand ink to give it more of an aged look. The bird is t!m Holtz Grungeboard that I ran thru my Cuttlebug with the Swirls embossing folder. I painted it using Adirondack Cloudy Blue Sponge Daubber and once it was dry, came back in with Judi*Kins Ice Blue Mica Gloss on the swirls. The ribbon and brads are from my stash.

Dangit Liane!
I love you. Really I do! But you can't send me blog postings like this. http://stampinat6213.blogspot.com/2009/08/backpacks-for-back-to-work.html Because when you do, I HAVE to make one.

I'm so punny!
Sometimes I even quack myself up!
Favorite Youngest Nephew Jake's got a birthday coming the end of this week, so I needed a card. Of the animal persuasion, since he's still all about the animals! I swear this kid's gonna be Noah when he grows up! I used CTMH Good Times pp, along with the hippo from It's A Zoo stamp set. I stamped the word "hippo" using Hodgepodge Alphabet stamp set, then cut the letters apart and inked the edges in Chocolate. The "Birthday" is from Happy Birthday stamp set. There's a piece of Sweet Leaf ribbon and a pewter brad, both CTMH and a star brad, unknown from my stash.

CardPatterns challenge
Very cool sketch this week at CardPatterns!
I decided to try something new. Well, new for me! I made flowers out of ribbon. Then sewed them together and used buttons for the centers. To tie the colors together, what better paper pack than Basic Grey's Lime Rickey?! Every color of the rainbow and then some in that pp!! This will have to be a hand-delivered card. It would cost the National Debt to mail it. You'd think ribbon would be light. Notsomuch when you use eleventy billion yards of it!!

CPS challenge
Great sketch at http://www.cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/ this week! I bet this is one I'll go back to again and again!
I am using some of the new products I got at CHA this past weekend. The paper is some of the Japanese papers I got at the Kodomo booth. The image is one I colored at one of the booths selling Copics. Yes, they're nice, but for what I do, I just can't justify the cost right now! I'll continue to use my CTMH markers, colored pencils and Gamsol for the time being! The Sinamay ribbon is on a piece of white cardstock to make it stand out a bit more. I also got some fabulous Washi Tape at the Kodomo booth! That is what's on the image of the girl. This is one that will go to my mother in law to send to friends or family back in Japan.

I went to CHA!
And lived to tell about it! This past Fri and Sat, for the first time ever, there was a part of the show dedicated to the general public, and I was there! I got some great deals, took some really cool classes, had a great time! Had a hotel room (and bed!) all to myself! Ate at Cafe' Tu Tu Tango one night and Ran-Getsu the other. Just a really nice weekend away. Me, myself and I. Ran into my two tablemates, Katie and Amanda, from the t!m classes at Ruban Rouge. Also Jenn, one of my CTMH sideline sisters. Made some new friends that I'll never see again!
