Time again for the SDC232. Sam is our hostess this week and she wants to see Spots and Stripes. Here's what she said about her challenge:
"I
love anything spotty or with stripes and I also love stripes but the
two can be difficult to combine. So my challenge for you this week is to
use Spots and Stripes together in your creations, Have fun"
I borrowed an idea from Claudine and made a couple of bookmarks. I will be using them on Flood The Streets With Art day on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I will abandon them somewhere and hope they find a good home with someone who likes to read!
I used Color Burst to color my base, then came back in with two different red Distress Inks for my Spots and Stripes. I then added some additional circles (spots!) with a lid and then with paint on the wooden end of a paint brush. I used Magda's Mr. Owl and Roc's Scalloped Lace Border which I alternated Spots and Stripes on. I also sewed around the border of the bookmark.

Your bookmarks are fabulous. I love the dots, stripes, color combo, quote, and the image -- basically everything!
