The making of Christmas gifts has gotten in the way of my card challenges. And I've missed them. So today I am changing that!

Michelle had a great sketch at http://www.cardpatterns.com/ this week. And I got a new toy yesterday! This card highlights it...the NEW

t!m Holtz paper rosette die. And it is totally cool! I can see lots of uses for this already. Almost makes me sad that I've got the vaycay album done!!

I kept the background pretty simple, using CTMH Olivia paper pack and the small leaf in the Timeless stamp set. The paper rosette takes center stage on this one.

Pinwheel

Another great sketch at http://www.cardpatterns.com/ this week! I saw a new technique the other day and wanted to try it. This is called a Pinwheel. I used the new CTMH Olivia paper pack, along with The Present and Timeless stamp sets. There is some Smooch Accent Ink on the flower which is also pop-dotted. Brads are CTMH Designer Brads.

It's yer birthday!

And I needed a card! And Michelle at http://www.cardpatterns.com/ created another lovely sketch for us to use this week.

This is CTMH Sweet Home paper pack. Chipboard letters are Scenic Route. Crochet flower is CTMH.

This is headed for my mom, who will be 39 AGAIN next week. She says she found an age she liked and is sticking with it!

First Birthday

Needing a first birthday card, I used the http://www.cardpatterns.blogspot.com/ sketch for this week. I used CTMH Expeditions paper pack along with Fun Times, Happy Birthday and Solo 1 stamp sets. The number is pop dotted for dimension.

It's Your Day!

Michelle has another lovely sketch this week at CardPatterns. I've missed doing them the past few weeks. Time to get back in the groove!

This uses up the last of an old CTMH pp called Lazy Days of Summer. And it's the first time a stamp set I won in Susan's last card swap has seen ink. Shame on me! It's called Flower Pot and it has different pots, window boxes and all sorts of flowers to put in them. A very cute set! The inage is double pop dotted for a bit of visual interest.

Simplicity

Michele says her sketch is a simple one at CardPatterns this week. If that's true, then my card is a simple one!

I got some new toys earlier this week and had to use them for this challenge! ;) I got some 6 x 6 cardstock from 7 Gypsies and a new rubbah stamp from http://www.redleadpaperworks.com/ amongst other things. I love the pop of red in the little girl, who looks a lot like I did at that age. I used my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to color her hat and shoes. The edges of the papers were all distressed using Ranger Vintage Photo ink. Buttons are CTMH.

Beautiful Day

Michelle's got her quilt groove on this week at CardPatterns!

I pulled out CTMH Splendor paper pack, along with Embrace Life stamp set. I used one of CTMH's new A-Door-Ables, which are chipboard accents in various shapes with a cut-out that you can dress up or down. I kept this simple and covered it with Goldrush cs because I wanted the butterfly to pop. I stamped it in Moonstruck, cut it out, then covered it in Diamond Stickles. The flowers are all CTMH White Daisy Just Blooms that I sponged Moonstruck. Heavenly Blue and Goldrush ink on. Buttons, CTMH Bitty Sparkles, Waxy Flax and Martha Stewart Bakers twine complete the flowers.

Hi Ho Cherry-O!

Anybody else remember that game? We had it when I was a kid. I remember the name, but don't remember anything else about it. I think board games had just been invented then! It was shortly after they discovered dirt!

Anyway!

Cute sketch this week at CardPatterns. I decided to use one of the new CTMH clear acrylic cards and the Cherry-O paper pack. The light blue stripe paper is on the inside of the card. The cherry bling at the bottom is one of the new Opaques that match this paper pack. So cute and summer-y!

Buzzing by...

With a little thanks! Yet another great sketch at CardPatterns this week. Still working on building my Thank You card stash.

This one uses scraps of cardstock, along with CTMH A Little Buzz stamp set. The dragonfly is double-stamped, cut out and pop-dotted, then Stickles applied for a bit of bling. Sentiment is from CTMH Thank You stamp set. Flowers, buttons, ribbon and Waxy Flax are all CTMH.

Since I've got some of the CTMH Miracle paper pack left, I decided to use some of it for this challenge. The butterfly and leaves are from the Irresistables that came with this promo pack and are inked in Crystal Blue and Garden Green. Sentiment is from State of Mind stamp set.

Great sketch with lots of layers from Michelle at CardPatterns this week!

I needed a masculine birthday card, so I pulled out the new CTMH Passages paper pack. I double stamped the cupcake and cut out the bottom layer and pop dotted it for dimension. The "icing" has Lime Green Stickles for a bit of bling. The bracket edge along the left side is a new

t!m Holtz Sizzix die cut. You CAN use them in your Cuttlebug! Use a "B" plate, then the die face up, your cardstock or paper, another "B" plate and run it thru the Bug. The chipboard ribbon slide and Coca ribbon are both CTMH as well.

CardPatterns challenge

Michelle created a simple but lovely sketch this week at CardPatterns. I'm still playing with the new line of CTMH papers that will be available for customer purchase on May 1. This one is a "vacation" theme set called Passages. Stamp set is new as well. It's called Live Inspired. I used some of the new Cocoa Ribbon Rounds collection. This is the widest of the ribbon in the collection and it has a bit of a gather to it, but I gathered it a bit more and used staples to hold it. The mesh ribbon is from my stash.

CardPatterns challenge

Michelle created another great sketch this week at CardPatterns.

My favorite Weird Unkle Grumpz has a birthday coming up, so I used the sketch to create his card. I used the new CTMH Zippidee pp, along with my Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder which I sanded to distress. I free-hand cut the candles and they are topped with yellow Stickles. The three button brads are from my stash as is the jute.

Cherry-O!

is another of the new for Summer paper packs from CTMH. I chose this one for this weeks challenge at CardPatterns.

This uses the cherry and the stripe B&T from the set, along with A Little Buzz stamp set. The bee has Diamond Stickles on his (her?!) wings and antennae. The small Crystal Blue flower at the bottom right of the bee is new Irresistables. The design resists whatever color you apply to the chipboard! Pretty cool!! There's also some Hope Diamond wannabe blue bling from my stash. I used my MS lattice punch and my Nesties as well.

So Sweet

In addition to the paper pack, I used CTMH So Sweet stamp set, CTMH clear buttons that I backed with the back side of the B&T paper, then tied White Daisy, Blush and Crystal Blue Waxy Flax on. The hummingbird has a bit of Turquiose Stickles for the required bling! The mesh "ribbon" is from my stash.

Another one of those great sketches at CardPatterns this week! Make it simple or make it elaborate!

I don't do enough guy cards, so that's where I went with this week's challenge. I pulled out the CYMH You Rock pp along with Star Power and Just Be You stamp sets. I used my Nesties to cut the squares. The star brads are from my stash and there's Ranger Distress Stickles Tattered Straw on the guitar and star for some distressed guy bling!

Another great sketch this week at CardPatterns.

Even though Debbie says she's convinced she *needs* to buy the CTMH Caboodle pp, I thought I'd do just one more to be sure! You can call "uncle" and I'll quit twisting your arm Deb!

In addition to the Caboodle pp, this uses Embrace Life stamp set for the butterfly which I double stamped, cut the wings out and pop dotted for some visual flair. I also used Diamond Stickles on the wings and body for some bling. Too bad it doesn't photograph well. The large flower is from the new CTMH Just Blooms Spring Blossoms collection. I sponged some Creme Brulee ink along the edges for some contrast. The two smaller flowers are from my stash and unknown, as is the button brad. I used two pieces of ribbon from the CTMH Sorbet Ribbon Round collection.

CardPatterns challenge

Needing a quick Thank You card this morning, I turned to CardPatterns for a sketch.

I used CTMH Caboodle pp, along with CTMH Thank You and One of a Kind stamp sets. I stamped the sentiment in Sweet Leaf, then masked it and stamped the flowers using Buttercup and Crystal Blue. The flower on the side is stamped using Sorbet and has the "requisite" bling at the top of the flower.

CardPatterns birthday

It's CardPatterns first birthday! They are having a blog hop and card challenge, so hop on over and see what's up!

Here is my take on the first challenge. I pulled out an old Judikins Asian inspired stamp and used my CTMH Sorbet, Sweet Leaf and Garden Green ink pads along with my water brush to color the image. I used CTMH Twitterpated pp along with Kanji Phrases stamp set. There are CTMH Bitty Sparkles in the corners of the sentiment for just a bit of bling! I also used some Washi Tape and my Nestabilities to cut the circles.

Great sketch at CardPatterns this week.

I used CTMH Twitterpated paper pack and Aspiration stamp set. I stamped the flower on discontinued CTMH Twill. The tag is part of my stash o' goodies from Debbie and Evan for my birthday. I pulled 4 of the new CTMH Tiny Tabs apart and just used the centers for the "dots." Ribbon is from the CTMH Sorbet collection and Waxy Flax is Heavenly Blue.
